Lively McCabe Entertainment is a Media Startup founded in 2018 and based in New York City, with offices in both Los Angeles and Ridgewood, NJ.

We package iconic intellectual property + creative concepts and teams + distribution to produce new stories for theater, television, film, and book publishing.

Our Team

Led by our founding Co-Presidents, Lively McCabe and its rapidly expanding team work across divisions with a focus on bringing together elements in order to tell unique stories for broad audiences.


Michael Barra

Co-President | Producer

Michael oversees all development and production for Lively McCabe, including live stage and filmed entertainment. An MBA and former executive at The Araca Group, Walt Disney Studios and Disney Theatrical Group, Michael previously founded production company Stageworks Media which he successfully sold to private equity firm Rebel Rebel Capital in 2014. At Disney, Michael was part of the leadership team overseeing development of Newsies, Aladdin, and Peter and the Starcatcher, as well as setting global strategy for existing titles such as The Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, and Disney on Ice, and has since developed adaptations of Clue, Cheers, and Family Ties, and is currently developing musicals Mystic Pizza, Punk Rock Girl (with Joe Iconis) and May We All (with Florida Georgia Line).


Katie Dietz

Co-President | GM, The Drama Department

Katie oversees the educational/enrichment arm of Lively McCabe, and serves as the General Manager of The Drama Department.  Her team focuses on incorporating family-friendly brands into drama enrichment programs in classrooms around the country. Katie has been a professional actor for over twenty years in New York and Los Angeles, and over the past decade has transitioned to teaching and directing theater for students in and around New York City. She has a BFA in Musical Theatre from Ithaca College and was a founding member of Off-Broadway's Gotham Stage Company.


Darnetha Lincoln M’Baye

Vice President, Head of Music

Darnetha Lincoln M'Baye oversees Lively McCabe Entertainment’s global music activities, and is based out of the company's New York City offices in Columbus Circle. A longtime advisor to LM Co-President Michael Barra, Darnetha joined Lively McCabe from Alchemation LLC, the producing office of Kevin McCollum. While there, she also served as a music consultant on a variety of Broadway productions, including Head Over Heels, The Boys In The Band, Escape To Margaritaville, Oh, Hello On Broadway, and Hand To God. Prior to consulting, Darnetha was VP, Film & Stage at EMI Music Publishing, leading the team for film, trailer, and stage licensing, and she holds a BA from Wake Forest University and an MFA from Florida State University.


Allison Bressi

Vice President, Theater

Allison Bressi oversees the Live Stage division for Lively McCabe, including all development and production, and comes to Lively McCabe from Signature Theater in New York where she had spent her prior ten years. Most recently Allison has produced Joe Iconis’ Broadway Bounty Hunter at the Greenwich House Theater, and Songbird by Michael Kimmel and Lauren Pritchard at 59E59 and Two River Theater. Allison has worked for companies such as Octopus Theatricals, New York Stage and Film, and Foresight Theatricals, and she was  the 2018 Recipient of the T Fellowship founded by Harold Prince and Columbia University.


Molly Israel Paul

Creative Executive

Molly Israel Paul focuses on the development of new stage plays adapted from existing Media Intellectual Property as well as manages Lively McCabe’s content and stage distribution partnerships. Molly most recently served as the Director of Programming at One on One NYC, a premier actor networking studio based in New York and LA.  A former professional actress, Molly has also held a number of casting associate positions on several feature films as well as regional and Off-Broadway productions. As a consultant, she has also assisted numerous production companies, acting studios, and professional theatre organizations with marketing & communications. Molly holds a BA in theatre and media and communications from Muhlenberg College.


Jen Bender

Creative Development Consultant

Jen Bender is Producer and President of Quick Brown Fox Productions. Previously, she was Senior Vice President of Production and Development for The Araca Group, and Director of Programming for the New York Musical Festival (NYMF) which she co-founded in 2004. She has also worked extensively as a director, including serving as Resident Director of the Broadway productions of The Lion King and Avenue Q, and the international tour of Cirque du Soleil’s Ovo.
